My first sun shirt

I'm 5'3" and normally a size 12, but I wanted to be sure that the fit wasn't too snug & clingy if it gets wet. Bought the black/white print hoodie in an XL, but I could have gotten away with a L. Because of the drawstring hem, I decided to keep the XL and wear it cinched at the waist. It's a bit roomier than I need, but not so big that it looks too baloonish over my swimsuit. I like that the seam detail across the bust gives it a slightly feminine look. I've worn it several times when boating this summer and it does not provide a cool feeling, but I have not felt any hotter wearing it, and it has definitely protected me from the sun. Note that the hood does not have a drawstring closure, so if you're wearing it on a boat, it is ineffective because it will not stay up.

Great top for hot weather hiking!

Saw this shirt and decided to give it a shot. Getting ready to hike into Havasupai Falls mid-August and trying to find gear specific to hot weather hiking. Received this shirt and promptly went on a 4 mile hike when temperatures ranged between 93 and 95 degrees. Elevation gain of just over 750 in the 2 miles up so nothing extreme but still a steady sweat producing climb. This shirt felt great against my skin and I did not get sweaty wet at all! I even had the hood over my ballcap....usually half-way up i have to take my cap off because my head is too hot. Not on this hike....my head was warm but nowhere near as hot as it usually gets. Would love this shirt to have thumbholes. When using trekking poles the thumbholes would provide a considerable amount of Sun protection for the back of the hand which is exposed.
